In a special ceremony on Wednesday, October 21^st 2015, at 11:00 the School of Dentistry of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece awarded to Professor Thomas Rakosi, University of Freiburg, Germany the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Dentistry.

Faculty members of the Department of Orthodontics nominated Professor Th. Rakosi to receive this high academic distinction taking into consideration his significant contribution to Dentistry, life long dedication to Orthodontics, academic cooperation with department’s staff and Greek orthodontists.  

The ceremony took place in the Central Auditorium of the old building of the School of Philosophy at the main campus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Following the presentation of the Honorary Doctorate Degree, Professor Th. Rakosi present the honorary lecture entitled "Evidence based medicine and philosophy", which was very much appreciated by the audience.

The ceremony was attended by faculty members of the Faculty of Dentistry and students of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, many orthodontists from all over Greece, and representatives of orthodontic scientific and professional groups of the country.
